Tanglewood Activities Committee

The Tanglewood Homeowner's Recreation Association Activities Committee organizes community activities throughout the year. The Activities Committee is always looking for additional help from Tanglewood residents in the planning and organizing activities for the community. If you would like to volunteer your time to make this community great, or have ideas for future activities please contact Jeff Owrutsky or any Tanglewood Board Member.

Examples of activities that have been held in the past included the following:

Tanglewood Day  A community event typically held in July in and around the pool area. Activities include a Moon Bounce, Pony Rides, Water Slide, Music, Dancing, Swimming Events and Contests, Food, Cotton Candy, Snow Cones, etc.

Concert on the Greens  The Concert on the Greens is a series of free evening concerts featuring live bands performing country, rock and roll, blues, and an eclectic assortment of other music on the grass parkland near the Tanglewood poolhouse. Residents are encouraged to bring folding chairs, blankets, picket baskets, or whatever makes you comfortable and sit back and enjoy the live music!

Tanglewood Adult Party  Every year Tanglewood organizes an adult's only party that takes place on the pool grounds and features food, music, dancing, and beer and wine. This year the Adult Party was a catered Barbeque event that featured a DJ and dancing. A great time was had by all!

BeachBall Nite This is an event that takes place at the swimming pool. The pool is opened late for this event and typically includes food, music, and pool activities and games (Recently this event has replaced the Raft Nite event).

Baseball trip Over the last few years, we have arranged for bus trip to the watch the Nationals at the new stadium in downtown DC and we plan to continue this event to see the Nationals or the Orioles or both.
